I study Computer Science and Engineering at Kangwon National University and I like working close to the metal: low-level programming and networking, especially protocol obfuscation and encryption. I'm at home in UNIX-like environments, GNU/Linux above all.

3.Engineering projects

3.1.OpenP2P: end-to-end encrypted messenger, file transfer and proxy

C11, Makefile

  • Peer-to-peer communication with NAT hole-punching.
  • End-to-end encryption with forward secrecy using X25519 and XChaCha20-Poly1305.
  • Authenticated handshake protocol that resists man-in-the-middle attacks.
  • POSIX threads for concurrent operations; memory safety validated with AddressSanitizer and GDB.

3.2.TinyC: a small C compiler

C11, Bash, Makefile. Under development.

  • Generates x86-64 assembly in Intel syntax from C source code.
  • Supports 64-bit integers, function calls, conditionals and loops.

3.3.MNIST handwritten digit recognition

C11, SDL2

  • Feedforward network with backpropagation and ReLU activation, written with manual memory management and no libraries.
  • A 28×28 drawing canvas in SDL2 lets you sketch digits and test the network live.

3.4.Low-level PNG image processor

C11, zlib, Makefile

  • PNG parser written from scratch: reads, decompresses and validates IHDR, IDAT and IEND chunks, and handles custom hidden chunks.
  • Detects hidden data and injects it into new chunks (steganography).
  • 3×3 convolution kernels (Sobel, Gaussian, Laplacian) applied by working directly on the pixel matrix in memory.

3.5.3X-UI panel automated installation

Bash

  • A Bash script of more than 1,000 lines that fully automates installing the 3X-UI panel.
  • Tunes the network stack through sysctl, enabling TCP BBR congestion control and larger TCP buffers to push VPN throughput to the maximum.
  • UFW for the firewall, Caddy as the reverse proxy and for HTTPS certificates.

3.6.UDP with ACK simulation

  • Stop-and-wait flow control over UDP with ACK packets.
  • Simulates network instability, including packet loss, delays and retransmission strategies.

3.7.Campfire (모닥불) community backend

Python, SQLite3. Team project of four.

  • Built a real-time anonymous community backend in a four-person agile team, using Git for version control.
  • Wrote the core topic-creation endpoints and a similarity-mapping algorithm that tracks and clusters trending discussions.
  • Used hand-written raw SQL instead of a heavy ORM for fast database retrieval.
